Things Keep Getting Worse for the Cleveland Browns

By Daniel Caldwell

The Cleveland Browns are looking quite miserable. After a very disappointing 2008 season, it doesn't look like things are much better so far in 2009.

Looking at the cast of players in Cleveland, it doesn't seem like there's much for them to be too excited about either.

The 2007 season for the Browns gave Browns fans some optimism for the future - in sports nothing is guaranteed, especially winning.

The 09' season for the Browns has been dismal at best. Brady Quinn is scrambling for his life and Derek Anderson has yet to regain his form from the 07' season. When two different quarterbacks throw more interceptions then touchdown passes, you know you are in trouble.

The team lost a 27-6 game to the Broncos in Denver. The Broncos had one of the downright worst defenses in the 2008 season, and they looked absolutely spectacular in week 2 against the Browns. The Browns didn't have anything going their way on either side of the ball.

Was this really a new and improved Broncos defensive unit, or were the Browns really that bad on offense? I think it's a bit of both, but I could easily tell it will be a very long season for the Browns and their fans.

So maybe Denver really does have a good defense. Is it possible?

There's a good chance that the Browns will be just as bad as they were in 2008, and possibly even worse. Mangini or not, this team needs some serious help in 2009 and they need more than a few good draft picks. - 30542
