How to Choose the Most Fitting TV Projector

By Emily Boggs

If you're in the market for a new television, you've probably looked at many plasma TVs and LCD TVs. You may want to consider looking at a home theater projector too, though. Thanks to some great technology, you can get a very high quality picture for some great prices.

If you're considering getting a TV projector for your home, there are certain details that you'll want to be mindful of. As long as you know what these are, you'll very likely end up with a great device that you can't get enough of.

Let's take a look at some of the things to consider when making a purchase. While this won't cover the entire list, it will in fact cover the essentials.

Try to get a resolution that you're happy with, as this is the most important attribute to look for when buying a projector. You may want to consider getting a WXGA projector, which gives you some very high quality images with wide screen capabilities.

You should also look at the contrast ratio of your TV projector. The contrast ratio indicates the difference between darker and lighter colors on your screen, and the bigger ratios will generally sell for more money.

Now that we have resolution and contrast ratio taken care of, the next quality to look for is the brightness. A typical range for brightness may start at 700, going into the 2000s and more. As long as you stay above 700 lumens, you should be fine.

One of the great things about the TV projector is the fact that projection screens are very affordable. You can buy a huge screen for a small amount of money, but you'll need to make sure that the screen is the right fit for the space you have in mind.

Size considerations aside, your picture quality will be affected by what your projector screen is made of. The more reflective it is, the higher the image quality will be, but this also means that you should expect a brighter image too. You'll only want to consider getting a reflective screen if you have a very dark room.

Now that you have the basics down, you're just about ready to start shopping. Enjoy the experience, and enjoy your projector. - 30542
