A Resurgence of the 2009 Cincinnati Bengals

By Amir Khanda

The 2008 football season was a disheartening one for the Cincinnati Bengals. A 4-11-1 finish was very disappointing to say the least, and largely resulted from the absence of star quarterback Carson Palmer, who missed virtually the entire year due to injury.

Carson Palmer was out the majority of the year with an injury - with his departure the Bengals sunk fast. Chad Ocho Cinco became an average wide receiver and faded away as the season continued to move forward.

Ryan Fitzpatrick did his best, but his skills were nowhere near that of Palmer's, and the offense struggled greatly for it. This wasn't much of a surprise considering his lack of NFL experience.

Chad Ocho Cinco, previously known as a top three wide receiver in the NFL, turned into the sort of wide receiver that would be commonplace around the league, and his numbers were miserable as compared to seasons past.

The only potential bright spot was the emergence of Cedric Benson over the course of the last few games, but even this was a question mark, as Benson had never really been effective before this.

While a division title may be a stretch, those who watch the NFL know that season to season teams change for the better or worse - what you did a season ago doesn't really matter. For example, take the Miami Dolphins 1-15 in 07', 11-5 in 08' winning the AFC East Division.

The loss of their #2 wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh would be a blow to their offense, but a young and improving Chris Henry would fill his shoes, as would Lavaerneus Coles, acquired during the off season from the Jets.

Carson Palmer and Chad Ocho Cinco make one of the best QB WR combination in the NFL. If they are on the same page the Bengals may be a playoff contender. Chad's antics off the field may be tiresome to most, when the Bengals are winning Ocho Cinco seems to be forgiven. - 30542

Is This the Year for the Houston Texans?

By David While

After a disappointing 24-7 loss at home against the New York Jets, many began to doubt the high hopes that had been cast upon the Houston Texans entering the 2009 NFL regular season.

This was a team that seemed to improve a bit each season during the past few years, and after an 8-8 finish, with a solid offensive core and an improving set of defenders, many claimed that the Houston Texans had a legitimate shot to win the division or make the playoffs.

On the other side of the ball there's a ton of potential with some young studs in Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans, Dunta Robinson and Amobi Okoye. If they can get it right, results in Houston will come.

Many people believe that the Houston Texans could make a run at the playoffs this year. Steve Slaton had a huge rookie year and if he can continue to improve, that offense is extremely dangerous.

Texans defense must not give up over 200 yards rushing every game and hold opponents scoring under 20 points per game. They're a young unit as well with Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans, Dunta Robinson and Amobi Okoye.

Steve Slaton looked great on offense. He was able to take a ton of pressure off of Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson out wide. If Slaton can keep playing at this level, their offense will be a serious threat to any defensive unit.

The running game was effective too, as Steve Slaton had a nice game. Defensively, there was definitely room for improvement (Chris Johnson of the Titans had a career high in rushing yards), but to beat the Titans, one of the best teams in the NFL in 2008, is very impressive. Especially when you consider the fact that the Houston Texans beat the Titans in Tennessee.

Every year teams rise that were thought of to be mediocre, teams fall that were thought of being very good. It will be interesting to see how the Texans respond to expectations for the first time in the franchises history. To be the team, they must beat the team - that team now is the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South Division. - 30542

Party Down and Curb Your Enthusiasm are Hilarious Shows

By Joyce Perry

Who doesn't like a great TV comedy? I know that I do, and there are some shows whose new episodes I look forward to every week. I try to discover as many new shows as I possibly can, and I'd like to share one established show and one newer one that I happen to be a huge fan of.

I'd like to talk about two great shows that you should definitely consider if you've never seen them before. Assuming that you're familiar with these shows, I would imagine that you're a fan of them as well. If you haven't seen them, I really believe that you'll enjoy these.

The first show is an HBO comedy that airs every Sunday night. Curb Your Enthusiasm is written by Larry David, and it's now one of the most loved comedies on television.

David, the writer of the Seinfeld TV series, is brilliant in this show and his acting is surprisingly very good.

If you've seen Seinfeld in the past then Curb Your Enthusiasm will definitely have a familiar feel. It's very much like the hit comedy and many people actually believe that it's better than Seinfeld was, believe it as it may.

The next show that I'll recommend is a lesser known one, and it's Party Down on the Starz channel. This is a comedy that chronicles the lives of a catering company that consists of failed or struggling actors.

This is no ordinary catering company. Each member is a very interesting character with a distinct personality, and the group always seems to find trouble. The laughs are plentiful and you'll be glad you gave this show a chance.

To me, it only seems like a matter of time before more people begin talking about this excellent show. While the first season is done, a second one is said to be in the works. - 30542

Choosing Between Cable and Satellite Television

By Will Treps

First of all, virtually nobody has an antenna anymore to watch TV, not even my grandparents who live literally in the middle of nowhere. It just doesn't make sense and with the new technologies and broadcast standards coming into play within the next few years, it is a major question mark as to whether or not traditional broadcast TV will even be available. So you have two choices, how do you decide what is best for you?

Cable TV is a good option. Not excellent, perhaps not the best, but good. On the plus side, cable TV provides good picture clarity, good reception, and very few problems. Most cable TV providers can also give you HDTV (High Definition TV), although they will charge you more for it and you will need an enhanced cable box to really take advantage of all that HDTV brings to the table. And of course, the TV that you own must be able to display HDTV, and if your TV was manufactured more than 3-5 years ago, that might be a huge question mark that you should find out before you pay extra money for HDTV capabilities.

On the downside, it is expensive, typically a noticeable amount more expensive than the satellite TV counterpart. The basic cable service gives you a truckload of channels to choose from and you can also opt for (at additional cost) to have a Chinese menu of premium channels available, like sports channels, various movie channels, and more.

One thing to note is that your cable company MAY be willing to cut you a deal if they are also providing you with high-speed cable Internet access. It is worth checking into, but keep the bottom line cost in mind, as it really may not be a deal at all. Your cable company is probably also willing to provide you with a VOIP phone where you can make and receive phone calls over your high-speed Internet connection. Be aware of this because getting VOIP service from your cable provider is very likely your WORST and most cost INEFFECTIVE option! See my other articles on VOIP phone service in this directory for more details on that aspect.

Satellite TV is typically a better choice, and almost always more cost effective. Yes, you can still get HDTV with a satellite TV connection. The picture quality will be equal to or better than what you get with cable. Your satellite dish will need to be mounted on the outside of your house and will require a clear and unobstructed view of the southern sky (in the US). The only real detriment to satellite TV is the fact that the picture quality can degrade during times of heavy rain or heavy snow. If you live in an area where this might be a frequent occurrence, this problem can be resolved for the most part by opting for a larger satellite dish, which will be more efficient at capturing the signals.

If you live in a rental house or an apartment, you will likely need to get permission from your landlord to mount your satellite dish on the building. If your particular neighborhood is big on aesthetics, they may not allow this, so be sure you have permission before placing your order.

The major satellite TV providers today, Dish Networks and DirecTV, typically offer free installation in up to 4 rooms of your home, and also provide free equipment, sometimes also including a DVR (Digital Video Recorder). During promos, you can sometimes also get about 3 free months of movie channels and sports channels to see if you like them. The provider is of course hoping you will like them and upgrade your account to include those channels.

From a picture quality perspective, both options are good. From a cost perspective, satellite wins almost every time.Understand the pros and cons of each choice so you can make the decision that is best for your particular situation. - 30542

Do You Need A DVD Recorder Player?

By Martha Mitchels

.

Back in the age of VHS tapes recording was widespread. Once the DVD format became the norm at-home television recording had disappeared and been forgotten by the average consumer. This was mainly because many DVD player models did not support recording and services like TiVo eventually became the norm in most households. But TiVo is not free, and neither is any other DVR service. Recording your own DVDs with a DVD recorder/player is almost free, but not quite.

Finding one can be difficult, especially in department stores or even some electronics stores. Recording your own DVDs has a stigma surrounding it that VHS recording never quite received from movie production and distributing companies. DVDs burst onto the scene as piracy really boomed -- and DVDs might have been part of the reason for that boom. For that reason, DVD recording is not something you hear about every day, even if you just want to record your family videos from VHS to DVD.

Several models of DVD recorder players are VHS and DVD compatible just for the purpose of recording VHS movies onto DVD. This is very useful if you happen to have a sizable VHS collection or have recorded many home videos in the past that you would like to keep. VHS tapes do not last forever, mainly because the tape itself inside the casing deteriorates, but partially because VHS players are outdated and are getting hard to find.

Almost all commercially available models that can both play and record DVDs are high quality, mostly due to the fact that they are a sort of niche item. Reputable manufacturers do make them and they can be found on a few internet shops and some electronics stores. These types of players and recorders are also getting more affordable by the year, just like normal DVD. The difference is that they can be much more expensive than standalone DVD players themselves. But as Blu-Ray is now becoming the standard, DVD-RW and DVD-R discs are dropping in price.

As a one time investment, a high quality DVD recorder player is a good buy, especially if you want to make a new copy of your old tapes or just save your favorite TV shows. These players are not going anywhere, and they are certainly useful in some situations, but finding one that is worth the money can be a hassle. But a little inconvenience for a useful feature can be worth it. - 30542

Digital Cable VS Satellite TV

By Nikky Alonso

Do you want to get more channels while saving money but not sure if you should go with digital cable or satellite TV? Then this article is meant directly for you! The commercials seen on TV and the ad's displayed all over the internet can be overwhelming at best. Below we will hope to help make your choice simplified for you!

Cost Difference between Digital Cable VS Satellite TV:

Most cable companies include local franchise fees along with local broadcasting fees on your monthly bill. Digital cable varies starting at $30-$40 per month and up depending on the package you choose it can go up as high as $90 per month.

While Satellite packages usually offer betters deals based on how much money is spent per channel. Some satellite companies offer a price point between of $25 for over fifty channels. With most satellite companies pricing may be a little higher per month unless committing to twelve months of programming up front. A twelve month satellite commitment will usually ensure lower cost up front and most even free installation of the satellite dish.

Programming differences between Digital Cable VS Satellite TV:

Most Satellite TV systems can support over 250 channels of programming. All channels are of digital quality. One downside is satellite offers less local channels and may not have local channels in some areas. Most satellite companies also offer HD TV services that are compatible to your satellite TV service.

Digital cable on the other hand can support over 300 channels of programming of digital quality. Digital Cable has more local channels available in most major cities. Most cable companies now offer Video on Demand (a library of movies and TV shows that you can order at your leisure). HDTV services are becoming more popular amongst cable companies now and not just thru satellite TV as in the past.

Difference of Equipment:

Satellite equipment typically includes a satellite dish that is installed outside the home that is visible to everyone. A satellite receiver is also essential per TV. Most satellite receivers today also come with a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) which the cable company has not yet been able to offer as of now. Most satellite companies run specials on free installation and equipment when you agree to a 12 month contract.

Digital cable also requires one receiver per TV but that is all the equipment needed. Should you disconnect your service the receivers will be turned into the cable company where as with Satellite TV you own the dish.

In closing:

In the end the prices are comparable but it depends on which system will best suit your television needs and what you are more comfortable with. Both Digital TV and Satellite TV both have their disadvantages and advantages, you make the call! - 30542

Are the Denver Broncos a Real Contender?

By Bruce Levins

Few people thought the Denver Broncos would get off to such a fast start, but it happened.

Ironically, it's all happening without their long standing coach, Mike Shanahan. New head coach Josh McDaniel has overcome adversity when you consider the fact that the team lost its top quarterback and wide receiver.

Denver Broncos Coach McDaniel is the youngest coach in the NFL, and his lack of experience hasn't seemed to matter so far. The Broncos have looked great through two weeks. Even Broncos fans weren't happy with the new coach in town.

It's true that the two teams they've played against so far have been pretty weak opponents. The Browns are a cupcake matchup, and the Bengals, even when an away game, would normally be considered a pretty easy opponent too. On the other hand, Cincy just stunned Packers fans with a win at Lambeau in week 2, so maybe the Bengals are better than people thought.

Maybe this team is better than people let on, and maybe the Broncos' win in Cincinnati was more difficult than people believed it to be. The Bengals looked pretty legit to me with Carson Palmer, Ochocinco and Cedric Benson running the offense.

QB Kyle Orton is the prototypical "game manager", while he won't put up the tremendous statistical performances like Drew Brees or Peyton Manning, Orton won't lose many games either.

The team's 27-6 win against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday was highlighted by a franchise-high four sacks in one half by Elvis Dumervil.

Let's watch this team some more. They're very interesting to say the least. - 30542

Green Screen: How To Use Effectively

By Phil Guye

The advent of satellite television saw the virtual explosion of television channels, broadcasters, production homes and content producers. The reason is because cable tv and direct to home platforms have indeed pushed the frontiers of television broadcasting beyond all conceivable limits and onto a global scale. It is not surprising that TV networks across the globe use the utilization of a Green screen.

One of the common techniques that are used in television program production is that of using a Green screen in the background of the studio where a selected programme is being shot. This is a part of the method of chroma key which deals in particular with the removal of certain pictures in the background of the shot and superimposing this with some other image, which is more acceptable for the production. For example, one can employ a screen that's green in colour behind a broadcaster who is reading out the weather news. When viewers watch the programme, the green or blue screen as the case may be , is replaced with a weather map or scenes of certain cities or satellite images being shown instead.

A Green screen is especially helpful for chroma key uses, on account of the fact the standard human skin tone has little elements of green in it. This provides help in high standard of image superimposition as well as the replacement of background, without interfering much with the general view of the broadcaster who is standing in the foreground. If there had been any green tint or tone in human skin, parts of the body would became invisible when using the other colored screen, making the effect quite peculiar and extremely unseemly and incongruous.

One of the main advantages of using a Green screen is that it is fairly easy to carry out as well as being cost effective. If one were to use a huge plasma or HDTV screen behind the broadcaster, the effect might be wonderful, but the price would be far larger than using a green screen. In nowadays of economic downturn, where cost management is the key, the dice is loaded in favour of using less expensive options.

One can easily make a Green screen that may be employed in TV programme production. For this, something as straightforward as a table cloth can be used. This fabric has to be uniformly painted, so that there are no smudges or uneven areas that would stand out when the show goes on air. One can also employ a plain wall that's evenly painted in green to form the coloured background. One of the guidelines to remember when using such a screen is that if the background image is one of trees or forests, green is a more suitable color to use than blue for the background, while if the image is of the sea or the sky, green wouldn't be so good. Using a green screen is therefore an efficient method of making use of chroma key technique in television programme production, which is popular due to its simplicity and inexpensiveness. - 30542

Compare Full HD TVs

By John Smith

With the introduction of digital television (DTV) has come the High Definition Television Revolution. Full HD TV is the pinnacle of the home television experience. But what is required to enjoy the maximum benefits on offer? And what choices are there to be made when purchasing a Full HD TV.

Not all high definition televisions are equal and can truely be defined as full high definition capable. You might think that HD Ready Televisions meet this standard. Though perfectly suitable for use as smaller screens, HD ready TVs conform to the 720p standard. To enjoy the full benefits of Full HD TV then the standard you should be looking at when shopping for a new TV is 1080p.

Theres many factors to be considered when youre in the process of deciding what HD television to buy, the first choice is what HD technology to purchase. The options to decide between include plasma TVs, liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs and light emitting diode (LED) TVs. But before making this decision you will need to know a little bit about the attributes of these three technologies.

Plasma HD TVs have been considered to be at the top-end of the market for some time. This is due to its superior picture quality, however its competitors have closed that gap recently. Plasma have enjoyed better colour reproduction and saturation, better contrast control, better at displaying fast moving images and they come in larger screen sizes. The down side to plasmas is they are heavy, less efficient and more expensive to buy and own.

LCD HD TVs have by far been the popular choice for some time. Its qualities include they are smaller, weigh less than plasmas, can display bright images, better range of sizes and because of their popularity have become the best value. They are maybe not as effective at displaying fast moving images and dark blacks.

The newest of HD technologies to hit the market is the LED TV. They are not as radically different a design as the name might suggest. LED TVs still incorporate the use of LCD panels to display the picture, but where they differ is the use LEDs in the lighting of the display. Previous LCDs used fluorescent lights which have a limited lifespan and reduced performance over time. LEDs have improved upon these deficiencies along with other inherent benefits. LEDs have better colour reproduction, energy-efficiency, and slimmer designs than their LCD equivalent models.

Something worth mentioning is the technological advances that are currently beginning to emerge. OLED and 3D TVs are something to keep an eye out for in the future. They are tentatively being introduced into the market but are still some time off being perfected. They are technologies which we may see a lot of in the future.

At the end of the day the decision about what TV to buy is going to depend on each consumers personal budget and requirements. Take time to do your research, so that you are best equipped to make the right choice and make the most of your Full HD TV experience. - 30542

Buying A Television Like the Panasonic Viera TX-L37S10

By Gretchen Goldstein

Buying a TV requires some knowledge about the difference in TVs. There are literally hundreds of new types and brand names, different shapes, multiple sizes, and thousands of features and accessories to choose from. You should at least have a working knowledge of the difference in the basic functions before going off on a TV shopping adventure.

It helps if you have an idea about if you need S-video inputs or not. Also if you may want or need RCA jacks in front. What about a digital comb filter? And will any of these things influence the quality of my viewing a movie or sports event? Questions like this will indeed pop up when you start shopping for your TV. So it's best to be prepared with some knowledge about such things.

America seems to be sold on the idea that bigger things are better things. But is this a reality in shopping for a TV? There are some small TVs that you can't see through a squint, and some large ones that are so blurred you feel you need to sit a block away. So knowing what size fits the room you're going to put it in goes a long way with deciding your viewing quality.

TV screens get measured from diagonal points of the screen, not top to bottom or side to side. Knowing this helps you to figure what size you will need for your particular viewing room. The flat-bottom TVs are very popular, but when buying one you need to take into consideration that they won't take up near as much space, say, as the old regular one you're replacing.

If you're going to shop for one that's at least forty inches or more, then give some consideration to buying a rear-projection CRT. These babies have been the favorite of home theaters for lots of years. They combine the screen with the projector type function for a very good picture.

There are three cathode ray tubes that make up the colors of blue, red, and green that get thrown onto the projection screen. Home theaters have been the biggest advocates of this type of TV. Some of the advantages for you are getting the biggest screen for your money with great picture quality and good black level.

A few of the disadvantages of these giants are their heaviness and deepness, and the fact that they can't be watched under bright light. They're tough to maintain, and the have quite a slim angle of viewing. But they still deliver quality color viewing and have been used for years by countless thousands.

With the flat panel TVs you probably already know how popular they are. Everyone seems to want a flat panel TV. And no wonder, they're compact and large-screened. They have a lot to offer for convenience and quality as well. You can get them in Plasma or LCD. Plasma lights up thousand of teeny tiny lights to illuminate it's picture, while the LCD is more akin to a laptop computer in its projection.

Buying a TV like the TX-L37S10 requires some knowledge, but it's not knowledge that's hard to come by. With just a little bit of research and reading you can go out armed and ready for your TV shopping experience. The main thing is to get one that suits ALL your needs, and one that's easy on the wallet. - 30542

Making The Impossible Possible With The Green Screen!

By Phil Guye

Green screen is one of the most well liked techniques employed in the creation of films. How often have people been awed by the fantastic antics done by super heroes on the enormous screen? Many have wondered how heroes are able to jump from a tall building without getting hurt, or how a heroine or model is ready to travel to different nations in the blinking of an eye. Well, this will all be attained by shooting in a local studio with a green background and then inserting a background of any place of imagining a director wishes.

All this is formed possible with the help of green screen. An actor can go to worlds that she hasn't ever been, bringing with them situations and places that you've only dreamed of, which can be done with the technique of the green screen that is both convenient and cost reductive. This system is common on TV.

One of the finest examples where this system is used is in the weather forecast section in stories. The TV often presents someone standing in front of an animated world, talking about the diverse weather conditions around the globe as clouds and raindrops are conjured up on screen. In reality, there is simply a green screen present and later the animation is added to the background. This technique is followed by almost all the television networks.

This method is extremely simple, all someone needs is a camera, a green screen and video editing software. The person has to make certain the color is the same through without even a small change in the shade. The surface must be even while taping or else it will be extremely tricky to edit that specific segment. Another critical point while using this technique is that the subject should contain a small amount of the same green color. However, one must note that only a very small portion of the topic can be green or in similar shades. When the subject contains a little portion of green, one can hide or minimize the impact of the sides that might appear if the perimeters are uneven or not uniform. The part of the topic colored in green must be minimal. Else, when it is edited it will look like there is a hole or an empty space in the subject.

Once the green screen is erected, the next step is to shoot the subject. To achieve perfection using this strategy, the subject should have a well outlined outline as it is going to be simpler to trace and cut the subject out and superimpose it onto the new background. There shouldn't be any loose edges on the subject and the lighting must be absolutely perfect. The camera should target the subject and not on the background. This is very important as the subject may not look clear when it comes time for editing. This system gives the most satisfactory results when shot in the outside. - 30542

How To Watch TV On Your PC

By Bob Chapman

As internet connection speeds become faster, many people are looking to their computer to watch TV. There are a few differences between watching television on your computer, versus watching a television program at home. There are certainly some advantages and disadvantages of watching TV on your PC.

Many broadcasters are beginning to offer their programs on their website. This is especially useful if you are a bit behind on the latest episodes of your favorite program. Some of these can be downloaded onto your portable digital player, so you can watch them while on a train, etc. This also allows you to watch these programs at a time that is convenient for you.

There are a few drawbacks when watching television programs through the websites of the broadcasting companies. First, some of the recent programs that are available in high definition will not provide the same experience when viewed in lower quality video. Secondly, there are sometimes delays associated with the buffering and downloading process, which may be needed to see these programs online.

Another option for watching TV on your PC is through the use of a player. Many players available offer up to 3000 different channels from across the globe. In addition, thousands of radio stations can be accessed through the same player. Although the quality is not in high definition, the quality will typically be a bit higher than what you would expect from a streaming feed from a website. Perhaps the best part is that there are no monthly fees with many of the TV player available.

Clearly, the advances in computers and the internet are allowing us to enjoy more entertainment options. The computer continues to be our source for more entertainment options. As a result of the offerings from the major broadcasting companies and developments in software applications, we do not have to be without our favorite television programs. - 30542

Have You Heard About Satellite Direct?

By Ray Winston

If you haven't heard about Satellite Direct yet, it's time that you learn about it. This is a great new innovation that harnesses the power of the web and gives you yet another way to save a nice chunk of money on a monthly basis. Here's some info about the product.

Satellite Direct is a rapidly growing software program that installs on your computer and gives you instant access to thousands of popular TV stations from all over the world. You'll get the channels you get at home, and then some.

That's all that it is. Just a piece of software. As long as you download and install, you'll have everything you need and immediate access to all of the TV stations. Not only will you have access, but the streams are top notch and so is the quality of all of the stations.

As far as the price is concerned, it's a refreshing change from what cable services offer. Cable TV will typically cost fixed rates monthly. Sometimes $50 per month, sometimes 100 dollars, and sometimes even more.

After paying a one-time fee of $49.95 to download the software, that's all you'll ever need to do. There are no added costs and I'm sure you can imagine the savings you'll experience over a number of months and years when you compare it to the price of your current plan.

You may be wondering what channels are offered on Satellite Direct. I can tell you that over 3,500 channels are available 24 hours per day, and there are a handful of channels from other countries that you'd never get at home.

There are also the channels you'd come to expect out of any cable TV plan on Satellite Direct. There are sports channels, movie channels, news channels, and more.

One of the best things about Satellite Direct is the ease with which it can be set up. It's literally as easy as downloading and installing any computer program. You fill out a few pieces of information and you're all set from there. - 30542

Can Eli Manning Lead the NY Giants to Another Super Bowl?

By Brian Kent

The New York Football Giants look to win their second Super Bowl in 3 years in 09'. While the previous Super Bowl win was considered an upset but many - this years Giants will not sneak up on anyone.

The Giants have a core of players who can lead them to a Super Bowl appearance again for sure. Eli Manning has experience and the quarterback patience like no other in the league.

The Giants were coming off of a week 1 victory against the Redskins at home. While the team was expected to win this game and did win, the team just squeaked by the Redskins with a 6 point (23-7) win.

In Week 2, the Giants gave it everything they had at Dallas. This was a game where one team would score, and the other would answer back with a touchdown or field goal of its own.

Perhaps the most impressive part about this game, aside from Eli Manning's 4th quarter poise, was his use of his wide receivers. The Giants found themselves in a difficult position coming into the season.

The most important wins will be winning against the division rivals - this is because the NFC East division could possible end in a tie. For example, both the Giants and Eagles finish 11-5 - the tie breaker goes to who won the head to head meetings. Every game is so critical in the NFC East division and the Giants can not fall behind early in the season.

Young talents like Steve Smith and Mario Manningham did a great job at filling in for the Giants. Manningham scored a big touchdown that gave the team the lead late in the game, and a Lawrence Tynes field goal won the game for the team at the end of regulation. Eli and Mario have a bright future together.

The Giants have the potential, like a few other teams, to make it far into the playoffs if they gain some momentum. - 30542

Is Legal A Word To Consider When Using Paper Lanterns In America?

By Cody Scholberg

Incredibly diverse, paper lanterns can have the most unique shapes, bright colours and varying sizes. We see them in Asian nations but they have also become widely encountered in Europe and America. Often presented as decorative items, paper lanterns draw attention with their diversely coloured paper and elegant styles, transforming any room into something wonderful. Are paper lanterns legal around the USA? Luckily, the answer is yes.

From the start, you should know that paper lanterns are not risky to use, even when it comes to those that have candles burning inside. Caution must be exercised when using candle-lit paper lanterns but the majority of paper lanterns are nowadays equipped with LED lights or bulbs. Given this fact, you can let go of all your worries. Candle-lit paper lanterns are often used in festivals, be they floating sky lanterns or tea light lanterns (the kind that float on the water, not in the sky). In such situations, extreme attention should be given to the paper lanterns, especially in the presence of strong winds. Despite all these facts, paper lanterns remain a green alternative, protecting the environment.

When paper lanterns appear in the night sky in a group they create a really special moment, filling the air with their light. There are many situations in which paper lanterns can be used; a lot of people choose them when redecorating their living space, some consider them for celebratory purposes and others believe paper lanterns guarantee a charming atmosphere. In some cases, paper lanterns have even been used as promotional materials, capturing the interest of prospective customers.

There are not many lamps in the world that can create the same lighting and atmosphere as paper lanterns. It's no wonder that so many cultures prefer to use them rather than traditional lighting methods. Paper lanterns are tasteful decorations which come in impressive forms, making everything look even more refined. A lovely setting becomes even lovelier with paper lanterns 'thrown' around.

Despite what many people think, paper lanterns can also be used as genuine light sources, and not just for decoration. They have a light that is not too tiring for the eye, instead having a calming effect. People often choose them for bedrooms or other spaces designed for relaxation, preferring paper lanterns as opposed to other sources of light.

Everything will be just fine, especially with paper lanterns to offer the relaxation you need. - 30542

What Cables Do You Need?

By Jason Thomas

Unless you are properly prepare, setting up a home entertainment system can be a large challenge. This is an overwhelming task for anyone that has not done something like it before and there are so many different cables and wires that your head may start to spin. Although these wires may not seem important, they can make the difference between a high quality picture and sound to one that is not suitable for your brand new flat screen, wide screen or any other HDTV.

When installing a HDTV you need to make sure you have the appropriate cables. If you use a coaxel cables, or the standard audio visual cables then your new HDTV will not really be high def. These high def cables are going to be a little more expensive then the regular cables, but if you are already investing in an HDTV it is worth the money for the cables.

The best type of cable you can purcahse for your high def television is an HDMI cable. HDMI cables transmit the picture and sound to your television through a digital signal, which is the only way to maintain a true high def quality. Again, if you are making the investment in a high definition television, a high def set top box, or even a Blu-ray player, it is worth it to invest in HDMI cables to connect the components. All of these devices are not only HDMI compatable, but HDMI is the recommended cable when installing the devices.

HDTV are becoming more and more common, and in the not so distant future every tv will be an HDTV. As you are installing your HDTV, and connecting the various components to the HDTV, you really should consider using HDMI cables. There are cheap cables that can be purchased, which may only cost you a few dollars, but the quality these cables provide will diminish your viewing experience. If you have the money, you should purchase the best cables you can, but if you are not ready to spend $100 or more on a cable, there are cables prices in between these two extremes that will do a very good job.

When making a purchase, no matter what it is, you get what you pay for. If you choose to purchase cheap cables then you will end up with a cheap picture and sound quality. You should research the cables you will need before you begin your set-up, and determine a budget for these cables. If you have the money, HDMI component cables are the way to go, but if you do not have enough money in your budget for HDMI cables, there are many medium grade cables that will produce a higher quality picture then the cheap cables. - 30542

Mario Kart Wii Review

By Martin Bliss

One of the best games that I've ever played for the Nintendo Wii is Mario Kart Wii. This is an extremely fun, addicting game that just about anyone could learn to play and love.

If I told you that just about anyone could play this game and pick it up quickly, I wouldn't be lying. I have a five year old cousin who was able to win a race in the novice mode her first time trying.

I love this video game for so many different reasons. Dating back to the original Mario Kart release in the early 90s, this game stays true to its original form and gives us so many of the elements we've grown to love. At the same time, it really masters its integration with the capabilities of the Wii.

The best part about this game is the Wii wheel. It's a wireless add-on that allows you to use your regular Wii remote to guide the car, just as you would with a typical steering wheel. You wouldn't believe how well it works.

As far as the levels on the game, they're all very challenging and a lot of fun. One of the best things to take advantage of in Mario Kart Wii is the online mode, which happens to be my personal favorite way to play the game.

In online mode, you're able to join races of anywhere from 2 to 11 cars. The best part about it is that it's all live, and your opponents are other owners of the game. It's a really enjoyable challenge, and I'm seriously addicted to it. There's also a point structure that rewards you when you win.

As far as the ranks are concerned, you'll gain ranking points when you do well in a race, and you'll lose them when you slack. The best part about it is the fact that it measures strength of competition, making it accurate and fair.

This is the best game I've ever bought for my Nintendo Wii, and possibly one of the best video games I've ever played. - 30542

Renting Paper Lanterns

By Cody Scholberg

Paper lanterns are available for rent for numerous occasions, wedding receptions included. They come in the most diverse colors, looking elegant and definitely enhancing the dcor of any wedding location or other major event. Instead of actually buying these decorative objects, most people prefer renting paper lanterns, considering the fact that they gain the same benefits while paying a smaller price for their needs.

Even though they have their origins on the Asian continent, paper lanterns made from rice paper are found all over the world, often used for decorative purposes at all-important occasions. Whether we are talking about festivals or any other celebration, it is true that paper lanterns are capable of making the event more spectacular, with their vibrant tones and touch of elegance. When renting paper lanterns, make sure that you select enough decorative objects for the occasion in question. Take all the time you need to browse through the available styles, choosing either round or square-shaped paper lanterns, wonderfully decorated with floral patterns.

Paper lanterns are defined by a lot of elements, their color being without a doubt the main feature of their beauty. It is true that you will have to spend some trying to decide on the colors of the paper lanterns, having to choose from purple, yellow, green and pink. In the meantime, think about how much money you will be saving on renting paper lanterns. They do double-duty as both a source of light and exquisite decorations.

Increasingly used by professional planners, they find their place in weddings and are often part of the entire theme chosen for the event. In some situations, people choose to rent paper lanterns not for important occasions, but use them as an elegant cover-up. For instance, to mask a ceiling that needs repair.

The World Wide Web remains a pretty good source of information where the renting of paper lanterns is concerned. Some of the pricing options available for renting paper lanterns do not include the actual light source. However, you can also find decorative objects with light bulbs included. Both wedding receptions and work-related functions benefit from the ambiance created with paper lanterns. It is recommended that colors belonging to the same chromatic palette be chosen for paper lanterns. They should be hung at different levels for optimal beauty. Don't forget to check if the price for renting paper lanterns includes the wiring or light source.

Quality is always important when renting paper lanterns, that is a fact! - 30542

The Samsung LN52B750 LCD HDTV - 1080p Breakdown

By Phil Edgar

The Samsung LN52B750 52 inch 1080p LCD HDTV has been breaking records since it's recent release. This is probably because of some of it's newest features are the best possible that money can buy.

Most features of the Samsung LN52B750 are pretty self explanatory, although the term 1080p isn't a familiar term with most HDTV shoppers.

The term 1080p basically means that there are 1080 "progressive scans" on the TV's screen. A progressive scan is a line of vertical resolution. Up until recently, an HDTV with 720p was the highest quality money could buy.

The higher number of progressive scans an HDTV has then the higher amount of pixels it will have. The more pixels a TV screen has, the better it's images will be. A good example to use to explain this would be to compare mobile phone cameras with top quality digital cameras. If you were to compare the images of the two, the digital camera would have much sharper images. That's because its images have more pixels, and are therefore, much sharper - the same principals apply with HDTVs.

If you can imagine that your TV screen has a massive invisible grid on it with hundreds of thousands of squares, (or "pixels") and in each of the squares are the colors which make up the images. Each grid will have a different color and your pictures will be shown clearly (as they are every day).

Now, imagine if you took this grid away and replaced it with a grid with lots more, smaller squares (pixels) - this would make the pictures much more clearer and sharper, as each little square would be a lot finer.

Let's assume you're watching a 1080p HDTV with typical 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Your TV will have 1920 lines of horizontal resolution and 1080 lines of vertical resolution. Now, that means that you'll be getting 1920 x 1080 pixels making up your images. That's 2,073,600 pixels - and crystal clear images.

In conclusion, the more pixels your screen has, the better the image quality will be, and the more progressive scans it has, the more pixels it will have. 1080p is the highest possible amount of progressive scans available to buy right now, and will be for a very, very long time. It provides the sharpest and clearest image quality money can buy.

The Samsung LN52B750 52 inch 1080p LCD HDTV provides crystal clear, mind blowing images, and is the best money I've ever spent! - 30542

Buying A TV Such As The Samsung UE46B7000

By Scott Hoyle

Buying a TV may not be so simple when you look at all the things that need to be taken into account. Many questions need to be asked before committing to a specific TV. Will you need a DVD player with that? Will you take a TV stand or a wall mount? Do you need any specific cables for your setup? And you'll need things like surge protectors, good speakers, and a remote control.

And once you get the decisions made and get your TV home, installation is the next big step. You used to just bring it home, plug it in, and hook up the antenna. Not today. There's so much involved in installing a TV now that many opt for getting it done professionally. Of course, this takes more cash out of pocket. But many find it a small price to pay when weighed against the option of doing it themselves.

Big-screen TVs are the trend of today. With movies at your fingertips and gaming happening across the country, the TV is the center for entertainment, and a big screen has much appeal. But when shopping for your TV, you must always keep in mind the relation of the viewing room to the size of your screen. You don't want to be sitting on the couch squinting, nor do you want to be seeing a big blur from a screen that's too big.

If you have a favorite brand, and have had for years, you need to go TV shopping with an open mind. Many new companies have put out some great new TVs, and you'll need to be open to what they have to offer if you're serious about getting the best TV for personal needs. The options are plentiful, and you can find some really great TVs with names on them you hadn't thought of a decade ago.

There are two very important considerations that you need to settle before you begin shopping for your TV. The first is to know exactly what you need from it, whether casual viewing or gaming, or recording, or sports. The second is just how much money you're ready to spend on your new TV. Once you have these answered then you can shop without having to filter through hundreds of different models and makes that don't suit your needs in the first place. It will save you time.

IF you're shopping for a high-definition TV, then you're getting one with a higher resolution than the standard TVs. These pictures are very crisp and sharp, with great clarity and color. The high definition TV is going to give you a choice of either 'Plasma' or 'LCD'. The plasma is the more superior picture, but so is the price.

You'll want to decide what type of signal your TV will receive. Some are on the antenna signal, but many are on cable, or even digital cable. While others have opted for the deep dish satellite signals along with the numerous channels that come with it. The TV you decide on should be ready to receive whatever signal you're going to be using.

So by now you have an idea that buying a TV takes some modern day knowledge due to the new technologies available in this area. But it's not hard to learn about them, and it pays to be armed with some of this knowledge before you run out and make a purchase of a set like the Samsung UE46B7000. Gone are the days when the choice was either buy a EMI, HMV, or Philips. Your options are numerous and TVs are not just TVs any more, but entertainment systems for your home and family. - 30542

Access To Watch Sports TV On Computer Free

By Chris Bishop

According to a recent report on TV viewership data gathered by NBC (NY Times, October 17, 2008), free Internet streaming is the most popular alternative to traditional television, accounting for roughly a quarter of total viewing based on field surveys of their TV episodes. Aside from streaming, paid downloads, VOD (video on demand) and mobile viewing were also assessed but their numbers were insignificant at best. The impressive amount of Internet streaming has indeed cast the writing on the wall for free TV on PC.

Actually, Internet TV is nothing new. It's just that supporting infrastructure had not been in its favor in the early days. Conditions have advanced by heaps by now: broadband access, power PCs, super-sized storage and open hardware, software and networking. On top of it, internet user base volume has also long surpassed the critical mass level. The web is clearly rich for the picking by many an industry, not least Television.

There is currently a variety of online television most prominent of which are Internet TV (ITV), Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), Broadband TV and User Generated Content TV (UGC TV). Internet TV is the prime favorite as it's free and unrestricted in both access and distribution. IPTV is quality but generally fee-based or contracted while Broadband TV is too geeky for the larger audience and UGC TV programming (restricted to clips) are inherently never full-fledged TV.

The appeal of distributing television programming through the internet is unquestionable. Take Watch TV On Computer for instance. From the providers' standpoint, it's inexpensive, quick-to-market, has boundless reach and advertising revenue potential or is just simply good advertising itself. For the viewers, the benefits are even more clear-cut, with it being free of charge, global, extensive variety and the ultimate combo of the two greatest favorites, TV and Internet.

Having TV on PC is not only practical, it is also logical. Considering the occupation of time by each separately in modern lifestyle, it's arguably synergistic to have them in a two-in-one set-up. Not that the required infrastructure and other necessities are not already in place anyway, exception is a home nowadays in the first and developing world without a PC hooked up to broadband internet.

Internet TV is on a roll. Tons of Free TV On PC is readily found on any of the major search engines. The trick is to be able to search and zero in on those of your choice and interest. Viewers are prone to get lost amidst the abundance of free online programming but for some specialized software that are dedicated to gather the cream amongst them for your selection. These proprietary computer programs are not free but the right ones are well worth the money. - 30542

Created by Panasonic and added into the Viera line of TV, this TX-L37S10 has made a big splash on the market. Not only will you get that standard part of the Viera line with the IPS Alpha panel, but you get so much more.

The TX-L37S10 seems to be very adept when it comes to this feature, and possibly the best on the market when you figure in the cost. Testing on the model showed that many angles were still able to view a nice picture on this TV.

There are three connections you have for HDMI inputs on the TX-L37S10, and also a slot where you can use an SD memory card. Though you will need to adjust the brightness and contrast on the picture. That's simply due to the Eco Mode that has a darker picture at first.

There are a lot of added features that come with this television that a person can access with the remote control that comes with the TV. It is a very simple to use remote which will make trying out the features a breeze to do as well.

A 1080p Blu-Ray player will be given justice if you hook it up to this TX-L37S10. In fact in the test the detail was amazing and above par for the market. Though one complaint was touted as the sound being a bit less than hoped for. However, it was noted in another review that the sound was only second to that of a home theater system. Obviously that means two different opinions and something you will need to check out for yourself.

The cost of the TX-L37S10 makes up for any other problems you may find. But most places have found nothing wrong with this model during reviews. So needless to say you will have a great purchase on your hands if you get this TV.

Ordinary People On Television

By Wayne Torres

Television networks are producing more factual and realistic shows to attract general viewing public. The masses seem to have more interests in watching ordinary people doing exuberant stuff.

For the past few years, reality shows has been a hit among viewers around the world. Reality shows are these one hour long programs wherein one can watch several contestants in an unscripted situation battling for something, or showing actual events featuring ordinary people as the cast.

There are several classifications under reality shows. TV networks came up with documentary style programs, elimination or game shows, makeovers or self-improvement, renovation, hoaxes, hidden cameras, talk shows, and dating shows.

In watching these seemingly tireless programs, we often see new faces in TV. Since ordinary people are commonly participating in these reality shows, these people are not too comfortable with the camera.

More often than not, viewers can get a glimpse of their anxiety as they compete with the other contestants. An example of such would be The Amazing Race. This show is focused on a set of contestants that travels around the world and racing each other in beating several clues that would bring them closer to the monetary prize.

When the participants hurry through the airports, do not understand local language, getting flights in schedule and the competition in the participants increases the anxiety which can be easily seen on television by the public.

Anxiety is not common among the actors in the daily soaps. This anxiety makes the shows more realistic and connects us to the facts.

For a more adventurous show, we watch the popular reality show Fear Factor. Here we see a group of contestants that compete each other by doing something that can be very scary for some, but fairly easy for others.

Jumping off from a helicopter roving from 300 feet above the ground, eating live insects and to be in a coffin with just snakes become the scariest activities of the show. Participants face the fear and anxiety that no one can imagine.

Entertainment is really evolving into a totally different era. Being real in television is already considered as enjoyment for other people. A sense of fear and anxiety can really hype up the viewing audience. By watching reality shows such as these, it would give us the impression of what's real and what's not. - 30542

The World Of Japanimation

By Wayne Torres

Anime has been known since the early of 20th century, but not until the 1980s that it attains conventional credit from the world. It is the Japan that makes anime popular. Even though some countries in Asian also draw anime nowadays, when you hear the word anime it is mostly attributed to the Japanese anime. The history of this art is quite long, starting from Japanimation to anime. During the earlier decades of introduction, Japanese artists and others in the industry tried to develop new animation techniques to perform like those in western countries, and the concept was known as Japanimation. They make it great and anime is really popular now.

Anime comes in many categories and genres. The fact that anime is universal makes it possible for everyone to love. Creativity pays for their popularity. Reading anime is perhaps not much different from watching movies for those who are addicted. Go to the market and you will see drama, horror, action, thriller, and sensual animes easily, to mention a few.

Animation itself allows anime creators to convey just about any storyline they desire. It is much easier to make a cartoon about large robots featuring huge action and destruction sequences than it is to produce a live-action film including the same things.

With recent advances in CGI animators have even more power to transfer their wildest imaginations on to a screen. Storylines, characters, and settings are limited only to what creators can conjure up in their minds.

Unlike the usual cartoon, anime has something more to say. There are comprehensive storylines as well as good character development so that viewers do not just see piece per piece of the character's life. The feature of character-based flashback can play back a character's past stories to represent their current personality or act.

Juvenile humor may be thrown in sporadically in drama-based animes, but do not be surprised if you see poignant and profound character development in humor-based animes as well.

Needless to say, not all animes are just cartoons for kids. In fact, the majority of animes feature violence, sexual innuendos, and language that may not be suitable for children. This is likely a major reason why anime's popularity has exploded across the world.

Overall, animes are enjoyable by all groups of age. Adults can get what they want, and so do children and teenagers because there are many genres and combination of them.

Now that you know the basics of anime and its history, it is time to find the right animes for you. Pick a genre, read up on reviews and summaries of shows that you are interested in, and enjoy. - 30542

Maybe you're looking at a cheap full HDTV like the Panasonic TX-L32S10. A cheap tv doesn't have to be very large it just has to be decent and work well.

Don't make the mistake that mot people make when they are shopping for cheapest tv i. E. Visit large department stores. The electronic items here are expensive and even though they might seem cheaper than what you can find elsewhere its most often more expensive. They are expensive because of their over head expenses such as store space, electricity and labor costs etc.

You can even visit a garage sale in your area to get your hands on some of the used television sets that people might be selling. However many cheap television sets are accompanied with a six month warranty which used television sets are not.

However even if you buy a really small tv like 14" inches or so its still not the cheapest tv around. To search for the cheapest tv you first need to make a list of everything you want in your tv. Of course you can't expect your cheap tv to be a plasma television with HD capability. So you need to be realistic about what you want. Most cheap television sets will be just plain old CRTs with the ability to hook it up to a playstation console or a DVD player. It will also have a remote with some limited capabilities.

You also might come across cheap television sets from wholesalers who sell televisions which have been made out of used CRT monitors. Many times these come in from China while other times the work has probably been carried out in the United States or Mexico. These television sets can be good at times but their quality is not the best. The size of screen will often be smaller and the curve can begin to irritate you. The reason being is that these CRT's were not designed for television. Perhaps a cheap flat screen HDTV like the Panasonic TX-L32S10 might be best.

If you do a Google search for cheap television sets you can come across a few websites that have really cheap televisions sets. Many of these businesses are operating out of China so they will probably not accept an order of one or two televisions.

You should search for a television set well within your budget. Maybe you can stretch your budget if looking for one of the cheaper full HDTVs like the Panasonic TX-L32S10. You can also check out ebay and other similar websites.

At first it might seem difficult looking for a cheap television set but once you find out what is really going on you will discover that its not that difficult. Just make sure that you understand the warranty of the television set. - 30542

Enjoy Mike Lowell While You Can

By Mitchell Boggs

I'd like to think at some point, Red Sox Nation is going to appreciate what they have in third baseman Mike Lowell and not attempt to drive him out of town anytime a trade rumor appears on Twitter or a blog.

Lowell has been a key contributor to this team since joining it a few years ago. Look at what he did on Tuesday night, with his three run home run in the 3th, followed by a two-run shot in the 5th, winning the game for the team against the Tigers. He's now batting .368 since coming off the DL.

Lowell has always had to contend with potential opposition, as players like Victor Martinez, Casey Kotchman, and Adam LaRoche have all threatened Lowell's playing time, often sending him to the bench. Lowell has never seemed to have a problem with this.

After a stellar 2006 (.284/47 doubles/20 homers/84 RBI and just six errors in 462 chances), all Mr. Throw-In did was finish 5th in the A.L. MVP vote in 2007 with a .324 average, 21 homers and 120 RBI. In the run for the 2007 title, Lowell continued his dream season by hitting .353 in the postseason and driving in 15. But after an injury-riddled 2008 that saw the four-time All-Star play in just 113 games (his lowest since part-time duty in 1999), we were all ready to send the guy packing when visions of Mark Teixeira danced in our heads last winter. Then, it happened again when Adrian Gonzalez was a major point of discussion around this year's trading deadline.

The team was always intent on shipping Lowell out, rather than switching his position or working things around him. If they couldn't ship him, they'd bench him. While so many players in today's game would have a huge problem with this kind of thing, Lowell has always been graceful in these situations, never showing resistance.

Despite his aging and injury issues, Lowell is having a respectable season in the hitting department, batting .297 with 13 HR in 323 ABs. Compare this to the numbers of David Ortiz, and Lowell has outdone him this season.

When it comes to benching or trading a player, maybe our focus is on the wrong guy. We love stars in Boston and especially those that simply play hard, shut their mouths while doing so and want to win, baby, win. We have a great one in Mike Lowell and enjoy him while you can. If last off-season and the trading deadline this year were any indication, Lowell will once again be treated like a piece of coal by those that continue to search for diamonds they already are overlooking.

If only more players were like Mike Lowell... - 30542

The Making of A Successful Hollywood Movie Starts With You

By Burch Colon

Hollywood spends a lot of money to make a blockbuster movie hit. The costs to bring in top performers combined with special cinematic effects teams makes producing top rated movies extremely expensive. It is a gamble but it is a risk that Hollywood is willing to take.

If a movie really takes off at the box office, producers, directors and movie cast will more than make up the cost of producing a movie hit. Some big movies have generated well over 100 million dollars in sales. When a film flops that is a different story.

The key to big ticket sales is for producers and directors is to create a film that spawns a lot of media attention before the movie is released. This media buzz creates anticipation for movie goers and causes a ticket sell-out on opening day. This is how they can tell if a movie is going to be a smash hit. Once a movie is released, it is then statistically trended to see how well it is going to perform over time.

Today, it is so much easier for producers and directors to plan a blockbuster hit movie. They have learned a lot about what America and the rest of the world wants in movie entertainment in the last 30 years. This data helps them target the interest of the broadest movie audience with a potential big hit before the movie is ever made.

There are plenty of ways that Hollywood makes money. Aside from releasing new movies each summer and fall, they also, enjoy handsome profits for the sales of DVD rentals and purchases. This makes up for a big portion of their annual revenues as older classics are transformed into DVD and Blu-Ray discs.

Besides new movie releases, Hollywood also generates hefty revenues from older classics too and popular television shows too. The sales of DVD rentals and purchases continually produce added revenues as people build their movie libraries over time. Many popular television series have been transformed into DVD's for public purchase.

In the past movies that were once very popular such as King Kong and Godzilla have be reproduced in sequels with better special effects and plots to lure fans to the big screen. Throughout the years this has paid off big for Hollywood. Jurassic Park is one such classic that entertained movie goes with two sequels. It is one of my favorites.

During the past ten years Hollywood has created a new kind of fictional movie taken from the pages of Marvel Comic books. Batman, Superman, and Cat Woman are all examples of how special effects have made it possible to bring anything to life on the big screen. If it can be imagined, then they will find a way to bring it to life in a new and entertaining way. - 30542
