Brett Favre Off to a Hot Start With The Minnesota Vikings

By Alan Fischer

The Minnesota Vikings are one of the favorites in the NFC to represent the conference in the Super Bowl. This is even truer now that Brett Favre is the Vikings quarterback.

The Vikings were a descent team before with quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels, but they are not Brett Favre. Many feel that Brett Favre will put the Vikings over the top with his leadership abilities, play making skills and veteran experience. Favre isn't what he use to be but he is still one of the top QB's in the NFL and can help the Vikings reach the game that has eluded them for many years, the Super Bowl.

Adrian Peterson is the best running back in football; he is explosive and a game breaker without question. The Vikings have an outstanding running game with "All-Day" Adrian Peterson and a very good wide receiving core with Chester Taylor, Percey Harvin, Bernard Berrian, and Sidney Rice.

In week one, the Vikings defeated the Browns in Cleveland by a score of 34-20, and in week two, the team bested the Detroit Lions in Detroit by a 27-13 score.

The Vikings franchise hasn't had this good of a team since the 98' Vikings went 15-1 with WR Randy Moss, QB Randall Cunningham, RB Robert Smith, WR Chris Carter, and DT John Randle. The team was upset in the NFC Championship game to the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. Hopefully, the 09' Vikings can avoid such a fate.

Adrian Peterson looks like the best running back in the NFL, and more importantly, Brett Favre is playing efficient football at the quarterback position. Jared Allen's also stepping it up and looks like the best defensive end in the league.

Besides Favre and Adrian Peterson, another notable player is Jared Allen. If you're a QB, you don't want to play against this man!

Anything less then a Super Bowl appearance for the Vikings would be considered a disappointment - Favre isn't a young man anymore but his sole reason to comeback and play was to win another Super Bowl. - 30542
