When It Comes To Lg Televisions In All Their Variations

By Matthew Kerridge

A very popular television maker in Europe and elsewhere which has lately been making a lot of noise in this country is LG. LG televisions are known in the consumer electronics industry as being some of the best high-definition, flat-panel TVs around, and there's a large variety of sizes and types (true high-def, high-def, LCD, plasma etc.)currently being offered by the manufacturer.

As a consumer electronics manufacturer, LG slots into the mid to upper levels of the market, and its TVs are among some of the most wanted in the business. For sure, there are several liquid crystal display (LCD) models of smaller size and older technology that can be had at a nice price, but its true specialty lays in the higher-technology offerings it brings to the upper range of the segment.

This quality maker of fine televisions offers an array of flat-panel, high-definition televisions in liquid crystal display (LCD) and plasma technologies. Most televisions offered by LG come in true high-definition, meaning they are available in 1080p and 1080i. Lower-level (and less-expensive) televisions are still available in 720, though they are becoming hard to find.

LCD television has a great many advantages of old-style CRT (cathode ray tube) televisions, which are actually based on 70 or 80-year old technology at heart. Imagine a 22-inch CRT-type television and then compare it to a 22-inch LCD TV. The LCD unit will present a sharp, high-definition picture, will be compact and will be very light in weight and easy to move around

LG televisions are also offered in plasma models which are as good as LCD TVs (or better, in certain cases) in presenting super-sharp high-definition displays. A plasma model weighs more than an LCD model of the same size, but plasma has a number of display and picture advantages that an LCD doesn't. It's more a matter of preference and what one's looking for in high-def TVs, for the most part.

When it comes to price, understand that LG televisions aren't usually going to be priced in the bargain basement or close to it, for that matter. At certain price points, they can be very competitive and will offer many features over there more common competitors. LCD TVs by the maker will also cost less than plasmas by LG at every size. Any LG TV brings with it a high-line feel that's hard to duplicate.

When looking for LG televisions, check online on the Internet, first of all. Many fine retailers now carry this manufacturer's models in all of the types (LCD, plasma etc.) and styles and sizes the maker is currently manufacturing. There has been limited availability on some of the more higher-line models but they can easily be placed on expedited order if so desired. - 30542
