Which Jim Carrey Movie Was His Finest?

By Mike Brubeck

If you asked a movie fan to name some of the best actors in comedy over the last 20 years, one of the first that comes to mind for most will be Jim Carrey. The famous actor rakes in tens of millions of dollars per move, and it's simply because of the fact that people love him.

At the end of the day, determining which Jim Carrey movie was his best is a difficult task. With so many great movies in his arsenal, it's hard to narrow it down to one.

Looking at some of Jim Carrey's earlier movies, the first two that put him on the map were his Ace Ventura movies and The Mask.

These both made Carrey a household name, thanks to his outrageous antics and bold sense of humor. He quickly became the hottest comedy actor in the nation, riding the success of those releases.

Still, it was Dumb and Dumber, which followed about a year later, that many believe was Carrey's funniest movie ever. Starring with Jeff Daniels as Lloyd Christmas, a dimwit living in Providence, Carrey travels across the country with Daniels to chase the woman of his dreams.

A few years later, The Cable Guy came out, and many had mixed opinions about this. Still, there are some who swear that The Cable Guy was Carrey's best and funniest performance. Others prefer his work in Me, Myself, and Irene, another Carrey movie that many believe to be underrated.

After a number of comedic successes, Carrey decided to spend some time on more serious roles. His starring roles in movies like The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind both won critical praise, and showed the world that Carrey is a talented actor on many levels.

There are many Jim Carrey movies to choose from here, and narrowing it down to one will be extremely difficult for most movie fans. Still, everyone has that one special movie that stands out in their minds. - 30542
