Star Trek Costumes - A Great Costume Party Theme

By David Lawson

Say one of your children has been invited to a costume party with a Star Trek theme and you have no idea where to get an appropriate outfit. Never fear! There are plenty of creative ways to get ideas, especially with a quick Internet search.

If you have a tall son, he can dress up in a Mr. Spock shirt with embroidered insignia. The proper eye make-up and wig, with special accessories like Spock's trademark ears and a pistol can be great finishing touches.

You can let your kid's friends in on the plan to create some excitement about arriving at the party as the entire crew of the star ship Enterprise. Arriving all together will certainly produce some startled expressions from the other party attendees.

Homemade Star Trek costumes are a possibility for the rest of the children, especially if you already have a costume to draw inspiration from.

You could use a single color V-neck long sleeve shirt, coupled with slim black trousers, as the basis for boys outfits. You will notice that the men on Star Trek almost always wear tight-fitting pants and long sleeve shirts for uniforms.

Fashion a simple communicator badge to pin on the front of the shirt and the look is complete.

When it comes to dressing the girls, start with long-sleeve V-necked mini dress and a mock turtle neck underneath. Cut out light-colored fabric in the shape of Star Trek communicators and pin them to the front of the costume where a breast pocket would be. Finish the look with knee-high black socks and black boots

If you don't exactly have the kind of time to put together such homemade creations, then browse the newest selections of Star Trek costumes on Halloween costume stores. Every year manufacturers put create new product lines to meet such high customer demand.

Either way your children will most certainly have a great time wearing quality and comfortable outfits. - 30542
