Getting The Cheapest TV

By Adrian Crede

Finding the cheapest TV isn't always easy, but is best done by way of online retailers. But be warned, as with any kinds of online shopping, there are things to watch for to ensure you get your TV as cheap as possible. Things like shipping and handling. These fees can sometimes be downright outrageous, so it's good to check out exactly what they are before committing to a purchase.

You may find that a couple of hundred dollars have been included for a TV stand. It could be you don't need that stand, and why pay the money for something you can do without. Try to negotiate yourself the deal you really want and don't just accept what's thrown together for you. In this day and age, negotiation is key to getting the deal you want.

If you're looking to buy a plasma TV, understand that most dealers have people who they authorize to sell their TVs. Some online retailers don't have this authorization, and they paint up a pretty deal in order to entice you to do business with them, only to leave you hanging in the way of honoring a warranty, or sometimes for the unlucky, even delivering the set at all.

It's also a risky business to try and purchase a TV at an online auction. There are many horror stories where people have sent their money only to never receive any merchandise. And you have practically no recourse in this matter. It's nearly impossible to get any satisfaction concerning scams like this.

Another thing that makes it easier for finding a cheap TV is just being willing to settle for older models. Some of the older models, the CRTs especially, still put out a great picture and have years of good service left in them. They're being replaced by many with the new LCDs and Plasma TVs, and can be had for cheap, sometimes even for free.

There are a few considerations for buying a TV that can get you one for a cheaper price if you're not too fussy about it. The first consideration is going to be your budget. Then you need to consider your available space, and then your viewing style. Bigger is not always better, and especially in the area of TVs. The proper fit for the viewing room it will be in is the one you want, regardless of what size it is. Too big or too small will make for a bad TV fit.

Many people don't think about it, but Sam's Club can sometimes have a TV or two for sale. They're refurbished, but the prices get slashed heavily, and Sam's Club will stand by them. That gives you an added confidence in buying it. You can buy a warranty and Sam's will honor it. This is one really good way to purchase a cheap TV.

So finding the cheapest TV isn't always easy, but it 'can' be done. There's no reason to buy one for the original price if you can find one at a retailer who is willing to slash the price for you. With so many new types of TVs available, many of the first models introduced have becomes old models, and the prices have plummeted. So do some research, go online for a bit, and soon you'll be hot on the trail of a cheap TV of your own. - 30542
