Buying a Television Like The 37RV635DB from Toshiba

By Beth Walton

Settle down and I will tell you a tale of TV buying. This tale has to do with the successful buyer and the beautiful set that they bought. It is a fact that in times past the sets were extremely small and the prices for them were large. However, times have changed for the better. The selection of TVs that you can get is absolutely ridiculous and the manner in which you can buy them has changed too. The fact that you need a new TV set is not new, but the fact that the wife (or hubby) is letting you get one is very exciting.

TVs are a lot different than they ever have been. It is kind of like cars used to be before they cut down on the different makes through competition. Of course there are a few brands that everybody would like to be able to afford, but then there are those that can be afforded by the majority of people, but that give you almost everything that you want. You also have to decide where you are going to use it. There are different versions of TVs for every room in the house including the bathroom. You can also purchase different kinds for all of the vehicles that you own.

So now you understand that there are TVs that can be bought for anywhere in the house, but you also have to know what style TV you are going to need. With the different screen types and thin, wall mount TVs this can be a chore also.

The big screen types are really pared down to three. There are LCD, plasma and projection types. The main advantage of the first two is that they do not require any extra apparatus. They are all-inclusive in the same box. The advantage of the second type is that as far as screen size, the skies the limit. There is debate as to whether LCD or plasma is the best, but you just need to research them and decide which is best for you. There are major differences in price and performance that need to be understood before you go TV buying. The projection styles TVs do need some type of projection device and they are not wall mounted but they are less expensive than the other two.

Whether the TV is HDTV ready is another concern that has come up recently, but it should not be an issue. All newer TVs such as the Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB should be capable.

When you have decided on the type of TV and you next need to know how you are going to purchase it. If you have been doing the shopping on line, as you should at first, then you can either have the set brought to your home or dropped off at a store to pick up. Use the store option. It will save you the cost of shipping and insurance.

When you are in the store, purchasing over the phone or online they will try and get you to buy an extended warranty; don't buy the extended warranty.

Know what you want and the process is an easy one. Pay attention to what the salesman is saying and don't let him take you. - 30542
