New Jersey Nets NBA Outlook

By Will Roper

The New Jersey Nets (possibly the New York Nets shortly) concluded the 08'-09' regular year with a 34-48 year. The Nets were not a good franchise on the path or at home either because they had losing statistics no matter where they competed.

The Nets happened to be 19th in scoring & 17th in scoring defense.

The Nets best scorer was Devin Harris at 21.3 points per night who had an all-star season. Harris has emerged as 1 of the best point guards in the NBA.

Harris has spent most of his career with the Dallas Mavericks - the Mavs probably have regrets about trading him away since he is healthy & has improved his scoring totals every year. The Nets did deal away Vince Carter - who now plays with the Orlando Magic. Carter had a huge part in helping the team get to the NBA Finals in 03'.

The team is in the process of rebuilding their team. There are lots of questions that need to be addressed before the Nets to turn into a force in the East again. Might they relocate to Brooklyn?

Might they get a new stadium any time in the near future? Might they sign a big name free agent (Lebron James)? This is definitely a transitory era for the Nets.

The Nets do have a couple of nice, healthy players they might hold onto & hope one day they grow into greatly good or even amazing players - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Brook Lopez, & Terrence Williams.

Not much is anticipated from the New Jersey Nets this year - they have 1 genuinely nice player in Devin Harris and the rest are just average thus far. Most might expect the Nets end up winning the same quantity of games this season too, 32-35 selection.

Optimistically, the Nets keep Devin Harris for the long haul & at the end of the day sign a free agent to take the Nets to one more NBA Championship. - 30542
